Woord en Daad Thrift shop
From a biblical perspective, Woord en Daad connects and works on sustainable change for people living in poverty. Together we create hope and new opportunities.
Our dozens of thrift shops and hundreds of shop volunteers contribute to this.
The proceeds from this thrift shop enable approximately 40 children from the poor districts of Cartagena (Colombia) to go to school.
Woord en Daad Shops mean: a new chance for things by reusing them, a place for everyone who wants to feel connected to their neighbour far away and a local meeting place for young and old. Woord en Daad shops, feel connected!

What drives us
We live in a broken world. We see that every day in the lives of people in the countries where we work. In the life of Oudaegro, who sees the harvest on his piece of land in Burkina Faso dwindle every year. In the life of Dina, who is not allowed to go to school in Haiti, but is used as a house slave. In the life of Alamu, who can no longer support his family in Ethiopia and therefore thinks of making the dangerous crossing to Europe. In the life of Kate from the Philippines, who gets no food in the evening because her father has not earned enough.
