This beautiful route along the fields around Lisse, Hillegom and de Zilk starts and ends at the Tourist Transfer Point (TOP), Stationsweg 59 Lisse.
The Northern Bulb Route is part of the Bollenstreek (bulb-growing region) walking network, the way to discover this beautiful region! The route largely follows paved paths, but also takes in meadows and bulb fields. The bulb-growing area is cultivated on the sandy soil excavated behind the dunes: the geestgronden. The bulb fields, with their straight ditches and high dune roads, are interspersed with green lanes and old country estates. In spring, the fields form a magnificent patchwork quilt and attract more than a million visitors every year. And not only in spring, because in summer and autumn, the summer flowers and perennials also bloom.
What is a TOP? A TOP is a Tourist Transfer Point. From this specially designed location you can walk or cycle along various signposted routes. In this way, you will easily discover the most beautiful spots of the region. A TOP can be recognised by its five-metre-high green pole.
