Park Groot Leerust
Relax on a bench by the water and, weather permitting, on the 'De Koepel' terrace by the Theekoepel. Now that is enjoyment!
Between Burgemeester Ketelaar Street and the Leede River lies the classical mansion and its park, Groot Leerust. It dates from 1717 and received its current appearance in 1844. The house is privately occupied, but the back garden, with a teahouse from around 1815, became a public park in 1953. The view of the Zwanburgerpolder mill and the Leede river is phenomenal.
When the weather is nice, a terrace by the tearoom is open where you can have coffee and cake or order the chef's lunch with a nice wine. You can also hire sup-boards there.
The Zwanburgermolen, dating from 1805, is a characteristic image for Warmond. With boats passing by on the Kagerplassen and the Leede, the beautiful old trees in the park and the many birds, you cannot really miss this place.

In the last week of June the park is the domain of the Warmonder Kaagweek.
In 2017 King Willem-Alexander chose Park Groot Leerust for the annual summer photo session with his family. The water and the mill in the background and the fresh polder made everyone very enthusiastic about this special location. It can hardly get any more Dutch than this.
Come along and see for yourself!
