Nederlands Hervormde Kerk
The Dutch Reformed Church Lisse
Since 1816 the Dutch Reformed Church was the name of the Nederduits(ch) Gereformeerde Kerk that had become the official church of the Republic of the Seven United Provinces during the Eighty Years' War. Before 1816 the name of this denomination was the Nederduits Gereformeerde Kerk. In 1816 the name of this organisation officially became Nederlandsche Hervormde Kerk and afterwards (with a new spelling) Nederlandse Hervormde Kerk. On 1 May 2004, the Dutch Reformed Church merged with the Reformed Churches in the Netherlands and the Evangelical Lutheran Church to form the Protestant Church in the Netherlands (PKN).
